LRC Takes on the Tour de 4: Riding the Red Route for Charity
This September, a group of Loudoun Road Club riders are lining up for something a bit different - and for a cause that matters far beyond the results sheet.
The Tour de 4 takes place on 6th September 2026 in Glasgow, founded by Sir Chris Hoy to challenge perceptions, raise vital awareness and funds, and inspire hope for everyone affected by cancer. Our riders have chosen the toughest option on offer: the Red Ride, 56 miles, for seasoned riders who love a challenge. Given the club's usual pace on a "steady" Sunday run, we like to think this one suits us.
It's a cause close to home for plenty of cycling clubs, and we're proud to be getting involved. Every mile ridden and every pound raised goes toward cancer charities doing genuinely life-changing work - funding research, supporting patients, and backing exactly the kind of care that touches families everywhere, including our own club.
We'd love your support. Whether it's a fiver or a fortune, every donation to our GoFundMe page goes directly toward the cause and helps our riders feel that extra bit of motivation when the legs start to fade somewhere past the halfway point.

Fierce on the climb has never had a better reason behind it. Thank you for backing our riders - we'll be sure to share how it goes.
